A business card layout has very little room for mistakes. When the spacing is off or the hierarchy is muddy, the card feels crowded immediately.
Step 1: Rank the information
The most common order is:
- name
- role or company
- one primary contact path
- secondary details
Do not give equal emphasis to every line.
Step 2: Use a card-specific canvas
Open Business Card Maker so the layout is already built for a compact horizontal format.
Step 3: Keep the front clean
If you are designing a single-sided card image, pick one primary message. If the card needs more detail, imagine what belongs on a second side and keep the first side lighter.
Step 4: Make contact information scannable
Phone, email, and site links should be easy to spot without turning the card into a spreadsheet. Group related details instead of scattering them around the canvas.
Step 5: Use branding carefully
Logos help when they support recognition. If the mark is large enough to compete with the name, scale it back or move it into a quieter part of the layout. For custom brand marks, place them with Add Logo to Image.
Step 6: Review like a stranger
Can someone understand who you are and how to contact you in three seconds? If not, reduce decoration and strengthen the hierarchy before exporting.
Common mistake
Trying to use every inch of the card usually hurts readability. Empty space is part of the design, not wasted area.
